DECON INTERNATIONAL has made it our mission to address this very real and world-wide firefighter health emergency through significant investment in research and development & scientific and dermatological validation of our products. DEKONMATE® Decontamination Products have been created to remove and limit exposure to contaminants, in particular, PAHs, OPFRs, PBDEs and metals such as Lead and Cadmium.
We are passionate about Firefighter health & safety and want to ensure that all our decontamination products really make a difference, not just claim to do so. This is why DECON INTERNATIONAL have undertaken extensive testing on all our products to ensure their effectiveness. Click here for References.
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are products of incomplete combustion that exist in both the particle and gas phases that firefighters are exposed to during firefighting operations. Exposure for firefighters is generally complex involving mixtures of particles and chemicals that include polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
Organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) have been used as flame retardants in consumer goods and building materials to slow the development of a fire; yet are also released during combustion.
DEKONMATE® DECONTAMINATION WIPES allow the immediate removal of contaminants at the scene, significantly lowering the dermal exposure risk. They are designed specifically for safe use on the skin.
DEKONMATE® EQUIPMENT WIPES decontaminates equipment through the removal of contaminants on equipment hard surfaces and appliance touch points at the earliest opportunity, used both on the scene and at the station.
DEKONMATE® DECONTAMINATION BAG allows the containment of contaminated PPE / PPC and equipment enabling it to be transported in an encapsulated environment avoiding off gassing of contaminants.
